The Naku bee sponsorship - honey

NaKu is now a bee sponsor

Super simple contribution to bee protection

In July, the NaKu team was on a company outing with Bieno, a beekeeper from the Waldviertel. There we learned everything about bees and honey: How honey is made, what the life of a bee looks like, how a beehive is structured and much more.

The bee sponsorship supports Bieno financially in maintaining a beehive for one season. This amount covers the costs of the materials for the hive, the additional feeding in winter, the medicines to keep the bee colony healthy, the fight against parasites and, above all, the care of a beehive by the trained beekeeper.

In this way we make a contribution to maintaining healthy ecology and thus to protecting the environment. If these important pollinators die out, then many plants will also die out. The consequences would also be devastating for us humans. Of the 100 most important crops worldwide, 71 are pollinated by bees. These 100 plants make up 90 percent of the world's food supply. The consequences of the disappearance of the bee can already be observed in the Chinese region of Sichuan. There, people carrying pollen pollinate the apple and pear blossoms by hand. The protection of bees is therefore essential to prevent a global hunger crisis.
