NaKu uses starch from European corn to manufacture its garment bags and organic clothing covers. Natural plastic feels pleasantly soft and velvety, yet is tear-resistant.
For environmental protection and health reasons, we do not add any harmful substances such as bisphenol A, antimony or phthalates to our organic clothing covers.
Our natural plastic is the most environmentally friendly alternative for our climate. It causes only about half as much CO2-Emissions like conventional plastic. This is because the CO stored in our plastic2 was absorbed by the plants via photosynthesis and at the end of life this CO2 The raw material itself is therefore CO2 neutral.
The natural plastic is compostable according to DIN standard EN 13432. In industrial compost, the composting process takes approximately 3-5 days. In home compost, if regularly turned, it takes 9-12 weeks in warm weather to compost.
Only non-GMO corn from European agriculture is used to produce the starch.
