NaKu PLA bottles
NaKu PLA bottles are made from 100% natural and renewable resources (plants). They are guaranteed free of plasticizers such as phthalates, bisphenol A, BHPF, or antimony.
They are recyclable and compostable, but also ideal for multiple use.
Furthermore, the NaKu bio bottles are 7% lighter than conventional plastic! Thus, even during transport CO2 saved.

Products and projects made of natural plastic
Natural plastic bag
All NaKu bags are breathable and water-resistant organic bags based on corn starch.
It has been proven that food such as fruit, vegetables, bread and even mushrooms are kept fresher for longer by the NaKu bags. According to a study by the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, lettuce stays fresh for 1,5 weeks longer in a NaKu bag.
The special thing about the NaKu organic bags is that they can be used over their entire life cycle: this starts with carrying them home sustainably, continues with keeping products fresh and ends with our bags being used as organic waste bags.
NaKu bags made of natural plastic are completely biodegradable and decompose within a few weeks in the compost according to DIN EN 13432.
Natural plastic bottles
The NaKu PLA bottle is the ideal container for drinks - without any plastic! It contains no plasticizers such as bisphenol A, phthalates or antimony and is made from 100% natural plastic (PLA).
This natural plastic is obtained from natural and renewable raw materials - plants. NaKu PLA bottles are refillable and therefore ideal for reusable, but also recyclable and compostable! Our NaKu cycle speaks for itself! Furthermore, the NaKu bottles made of natural plastic are 7% lighter than conventional plastic! In addition to all other environmentally friendly aspects, this also saves CO2 during transport. The NaKu standard bottles made of natural plastic are available in two practical sizes (250ml and 500ml).

Some facts about the NaKu products
NaKu uses starch from European farmed corn for the production of its bags. Sacks made of bioplastics feel pleasantly soft and velvety and are nevertheless tear-resistant.
Naku manufactures its bottles from polylactic acid (PLA), ie lactic acid is extracted from plants and linked into long chains. Even the closure is made entirely of natural plastic/bioplastic.
Light, biodegradable bags that are thinner than 15 µm may continue to be handed out by retailers. Our renewable and compostable bags "light" may also be used in Austria for sale to customers in retail. These do not fall under the new Austrian plastic bag ban, as they can continue to be handed out as light, biodegradable carrier bags.
The NaKu "light" bags are significantly lighter than paper bags. As a result, we also need far fewer raw materials in the production of the NaKu Sackerl - we pass this price advantage on to you.
NaKu products are intended for reusable use. After repeated use, NaKu bags can also be used as organic waste bags, since the NaKu bags completely decompose in the compost!
The NaKu bottles made of natural plastic are also suitable for returnable use. At the end of their life cycle they are recyclable and also compostable! The environment and climate are happy!
The natural plastic is compostable according to the DIN standard EN 13432 - TÜV certified. In industrial compost, the composting process of the bags takes about 3-5 days. In home compost, if turned over at regular intervals, it will take 9 to 12 weeks in warm weather for our bag to compost.
Food such as bread, vegetables and fruit stay fresh longer in our NaKu bags. In a study by BOKU Vienna, apples, mangoes, tomatoes, chanterelles, salad, bread and rolls were stored in three different ways: open, in plastic bags and in NaKu bags. The study result is clear. Bread, for example, lasts more than twice as long in the NaKu bag as when stored open and also retains its taste compared to the plastic bag. Apples keep their taste, especially when stored in the NaKu bag. The situation is similar for lettuce and other foods.
This means that our NaKu bags mean that less food is thrown away and wasted. Less food also means less CO2 emissions. With our NaKu bags you can make a valuable contribution to environmental protection and climate protection as well as an active contribution against food waste.
Only non-GMO raw materials from renewable raw materials (plants) are used to manufacture our NaKu products and our natural plastic.
For environmental protection and also for health, we do not add any harmful substances such as bisphenol A, antimony or phthalates to our products made of bioplastics.
Our natural plastic is the most environmentally friendly alternative for our climate. By using renewable raw materials, our NaKu bags cause only about half as much CO2-Emissions like classic plastic bags. Compared to a paper bag, which weighs significantly more for the same size, there are even less than half as many emissions. Our bottles are also more climate friendly than recycled glass bottles as it takes over 1000° Celsius to melt glass. Our PLA bottles, on the other hand, are produced at a temperature of just 150° Celsius.
