The long-awaited day has come. At 09:00 a.m. a meet & greet took place in Klosterneuburg town hall with a reception and start of the WALK4FUTURE by Martina Gleissenebner-Teskey. The event was covered by the press and the mayor Christoph Kaufmann of Klosterneuburg gave a short speech.

Shortly after 10:00 a.m. Martina started her first stage of the #WALK4FUTURE from Vienna/Klosterneuburg on foot to Paris. Ute Zimmermann and Johann Zimmermann were of course there as supporters of this impressive and important campaign.

The background

Martina Gleissenebner-Teskey, the first “Best Ager” finalist of the 17th season of Germany's Next Top Model by Heidi Klum, is a renowned model, trainer and coach. Under the motto “WALK4FUTURE – REthink Fashion”, she will walk from her home in Klosterneuburg near Vienna to Paris for the Haute Couture Week from April 21st, covering an impressive 1.620 km. With this extraordinary trip she wants to make a particularly important statement for sustainability in the fashion industry.

Along the way, Martina Gleissenebner-Teskey meets visionary designers who are committed to a sustainable future for the fashion and beauty industry. Companions in this movement are IM POLYMER and NaKu, both companies that are at the forefront of the development of products made from bioplastics.

Ute Zimmermann, emphasizes the importance of this initiative: “It is a personal concern for us to support this important initiative by Martina Gleissenebner-Teskey. Overproduction and overconsumption have created a waste problem in the fashion industry. It is time to switch wherever possible to sustainable materials that do not harm our environment.”

On Earth Day (this year under the motto “PLANET VS. PLASTIC”), April 22, 2024, IM POLYMER and NaKu will cover part of the journey together with Martina Gleissenebner-Teskey. The aim is to discuss and provide information about the fashion industry and the diverse possible uses of bioplastics.
