Award for the "Plastic Teaching Aid Box"
The “Plastic Teaching Aid Box” was awarded the Energy Globe
Every year, the Energy Globe honors outstanding environmental projects and also recognizes sustainable initiatives by young people and schools. This year, there was again a special category for these projects. Among these awards was the plastic teaching aid box "Handling plastic responsibly," which was awarded a medal in Upper Austria as one of twelve youth projects.
The teaching aid box in question contains 14 exemplary products that illustrate the diverse applications of plastics. These products form the basis for modular school material. The teaching aid box also contains NaKu's bioplastic ants. Originally developed and produced for the art project "Beware of ants" by artist Julia Bugram, these ants made of bioplastic illustrate the wide range of possibilities that this material now offers.
The teaching materials box, including accompanying materials, is designed for young people aged 11 to 14. It integrates various subjects such as chemistry, physics, biology, environmental studies, geography, economics, career guidance, and art. In addition to the school setting, the materials are also suitable for extracurricular training programs focusing on the circular economy, environmental education, and sustainability. Schools and teachers who are interested can request the plastic teaching materials box free of charge.
