Review: NaKu Workshop at the Children's Business Week 2025
Bioplastics in focus at the Children's Business Week
In July 2025, NaKu participated in Children's Business Week in Vienna, a significant event for the economic education of young people in Austria. Our Managing Director, Johann Zimmermann, gave an interactive presentation on bioplastics, captivating numerous children and teenagers who participated with great interest and many insightful questions.
In a presentation entitled "Plastic from Corn and Sugar – How Does That Work?", Johann Zimmermann vividly explained how bioplastics are produced from renewable raw materials such as corn starch and sugar. He not only discussed the technical fundamentals but also the ecological advantages of these materials compared to conventional petroleum-based plastics. The children learned how bioplastics can be biodegradable, what role they play in a sustainable circular economy, and why they are an important building block for a more environmentally friendly future.

The strong engagement of the young audience was particularly gratifying: They asked many thoughtful questions, participated in discussions, and demonstrated a remarkable awareness of environmental and sustainability issues. For Johann Zimmermann, it was an inspiring experience: "It's impressive to see how interested and curious children are when it comes to the future of our planet. This is where real change begins."
Children's Business Week offers children and young people between the ages of 8 and 14 the opportunity to experience business firsthand. Through workshops, lectures, and interactive formats, they learn in a playful way how companies work, what careers exist, and how they can actively shape the future. NaKu was delighted to be part of this forward-looking event and to contribute to environmental education for the next generation.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the organizers of the Children's Business Week for the invitation and the excellent organization. The exchange with the young participants was both educational and motivating for us!
