Review of Fachpack 2025: Sustainable innovations in the spotlight
At Fachpack: The NaKu sugar bottle and the NaKu packaging films made of bioplastics
Fachpack 2025 in Nuremberg was a resounding success for NaKu – and a true showcase for our latest developments in sustainable packaging solutions. Under the motto "Innovations for a Sustainable Future," we presented our bioplastic products, which are not only ecologically sound but also impress with their versatility and everyday usability.
Visitor interest: From sugar bottles to organic packaging film
Visitors showed particular interest in our NaKu sugar bottle—a packaging solution that is not only made from renewable raw materials but is also fully compostable (DIN 13432). The bottle impressively demonstrates how functionality and sustainability can be combined—and was frequently cited as a "favorite product" at the booth.
Our bioplastic-based cans, which represent an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional plastic or metal packaging, also attracted considerable attention. Their combination of stability, design, and compostability impressed trade visitors from both the food and non-food sectors.
A real eye-catcher – and arguably our most unusual exhibit – were the chicken shoes from Boots4Chicks, which are hygienically and sustainably packaged in our NaKu organic film. This packaging application not only raised a smile, but also charmingly demonstrated how versatile our organic film can be used – from food to many other products.
Our NaKu bio-films for a wide range of packaging applications were therefore a central topic of many discussions. Whether for food, cosmetics, textiles, or specialty products – visitors were impressed by the pleasant feel and ecological performance of our film solutions.
Research meets practice: The InnoWap project at Fachpack
Another highlight at our booth was the presentation of the InnoWap research project, in which NaKu is involved. The goal of the project is to develop innovative, bio-based packaging solutions (aquatic plants) that are both ecologically and functionally compelling. At Fachpack, we were able to present this project to the wider public for the first time.
Visitor interest was high, particularly regarding the project's feasibility and potential for various industries. You can follow current project progress here.
