The advantages of garment bags and garment films made from natural raw materials
NaKu uses starch from European-grown corn to manufacture its garment bags and covers. The bioplastic has a pleasantly soft and velvety feel, yet is tear-resistant.
For environmental protection and health reasons, we refrain from adding any harmful substances such as bisphenol A, antimony or phthalates to the garment bag.
Our bioplastic is the solution for our climate. It causes only about half the CO2 emissions of conventional plastic. This is because the CO2 stored in our plastic was absorbed by the plants through photosynthesis and releases this CO2 again at the end of their life cycle . The raw material itself is therefore CO2 neutral.
The natural plastic is compostable according to DIN standard EN 13432. In industrial compost, the composting process takes approximately 3-5 days. In home compost, if regularly turned, it takes 9-12 weeks in warm weather to compost.
Only non-GMO corn from European agriculture is used to produce the starch.
