About City Farm
The City Farm Augarten is a center of excellence for urban gardening and sustainable agriculture. In this diverse urban garden in the heart of Vienna, countless varieties of vegetables and herbs can be discovered, tasted, and experienced.
It is about conveying joy and enthusiasm for all living things: for nature, for soil & plants and for the awareness of being able to contribute to positive changes together. In concrete terms, climate-friendly, sustainable methods and strategies of gardening and agriculture are taught: snow food production, which enables the harvest of unheated fresh vegetables (kitchen herbs, salads, radishes, etc.) in the middle of winter, 4-season gardening and micro farming.
Unique are, for example, the "Children's Garden", a 45m long raised bed and the fact that sowing, planting and harvesting takes place here all year round. Even in winter there are workshops for adults and children (kindergarten, schools, private groups) and guided tours. City Farm partners also have access to a conference room, a professional kitchen and an inner courtyard covered with a sun sail.

The City Farm Augarten, which works according to the guidelines of organic farming, consistently packs its young vegetable plants, young herbs and its freshly harvested vegetable rarities in organic bags from NaKu.
These are made from renewable/vegetable raw materials from European agriculture and have been proven to keep fruit and vegetables fresh for longer, which is also confirmed by a study by BOKU.
