NaKu & freemee cosmetics
Natural cosmetics packaged in the most environmentally friendly way
The time has come! The natural cosmetics from freemee cosmetics are now available!
Now many people may be wondering what NaKu has to do with it?
The interchangeable cartridge made of bioplastic – which contains the natural cream – is inserted into the freemee cosmetics cream jar made of fine wood and glass.
If the cream is empty, the bioplastic cartridge is simply replaced.
About freemee cosmetics – Hannah & Patrick
Hannah had never found the right product when she was looking for the ideal care cream. So she decided to make her own natural cosmetics. However, there seemed to be no suitable packaging alternative that was satisfactory.
When you look into your own bathroom and the mountain of plastic waste that accumulates here in a short time, it quickly became clear that conventional packaging is not suitable for your natural cosmetics.
That's why Hannah and Patrick then decided to develop their own packaging for their freemee cosmetics natural cream that meets their requirements 100% without making any compromises. They want to combine sustainability, quality, beauty and luxury.
That's why Hannah and Patrick are very careful to use only decomposable and renewable raw materials. Their goal is not to put any waste into the world that cannot be released back into nature. Therefore, the freemee jar for the cream and the packaging are 100% decomposable, recyclable and 99,9% empty. The goal of freemee cosmetics to save as much waste as possible can also be achieved with this system. Because with the system of the replaceable bioplastic cartridge, up to 75% waste can be saved compared to other cosmetic packaging.
The requirements for the exchangeable cartridge made of bioplastics
As mentioned at the beginning, the replacement cartridge for the natural cream from freemee cosmetics is made of bioplastic. The actual cream jar is made of high quality materials, fine wood and glass.
We are moving here in the luxury segment and therefore all components of the bioplastic exchangeable cartridge must be precisely coordinated and easy to handle.
This applies in particular to those components that move within the cartridge or must also seal during movement.
Originally it was planned to manufacture the five individual components of the bioplastic exchangeable cartridge from one material. However, since the requirements for the individual components are very different, we came to the conclusion in the course of product development and test runs to use three different bioplastic material variations here.
Complex components made of bioplastics
As can be seen from the example of the exchangeable cartridge made of bioplastics, very complex components or a complex interaction of individual components made of bioplastics are also possible. However, the production is not as simple as one might imagine.
Why isn't it as easy as it is often made out to be? Well, in the field of bioplastics, the choice of materials is currently (still) more limited than is the case with conventional plastics. With our know-how, however, a great deal is possible.
