NaKu & the Vienna City Marathon 2022

A great initiative of the VCM - Vienna City Marathon!

This year's finisher bag is an environmentally friendly NaKu bag made of bioplastics, made from plant-based/renewable raw materials. The NaKu Sackerl is very happy to be part of the Vienna City Marathon 2022 and hopes that it will be part of many more such great running events.

The organizational team of the Vienna City Marathon pays great attention to sustainability. According to the Vienna City Marathon website, printed advertising flyers are no longer accepted in the finisher bag for reasons of sustainability. As an alternative, the option of digital advertisements or digital VCM goodies is offered. This means that only products or product samples are issued in the finisher bag. This year, the finisher bag itself is a NaKu bag made from bioplastics, made from plant-based/renewable raw materials and is 100% compostable.

According to the VCM website, the finisher bags are assembled in Vienna in order to keep truck transports to a minimum. Finisher bags that are not collected will not be disposed of or wasted after the Vienna City Marathon, but will be donated to local charities.

According to its own statements, the VCM does not claim to be perfect. But together with his partners, sponsors and suppliers, he takes measures for more sustainability and for a climate-neutral VCM. The VCM is active in many areas in order to 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations to make a positive contribution to society.
