NaKu was once again live at the KURIER futurezone.at SPEAK OUT Festival in 2025!
On June 17, 2025, the MQ – MuseumsQuartier Vienna transformed into a hotspot for young visionaries, sustainability enthusiasts, and innovation aficionados: The KURIER Media House futurezone.at TECHNOLOGY NEWS Speak Out Festival 2025, organized by Kimiko Uriu, brought together over 700 participants from start-ups, companies, research institutions, and civil society.
Under the motto “Festival for Sustainability & Innovation,” the event offered a diverse program with keynotes, panels, workshops, and masterclasses on the topics of climate protection, circular economy, technology, and social responsibility.
The "Stop Green Brainwashing" event was particularly interesting for us. Under the motto "Bring your own greenwashing examples – we bring ours," the event was intended to discuss concrete examples and demonstrate why this topic is so critical – not only for the economy, but also for social developments.
In this context, Ute Zimmermann reported on the problem of counterfeit organic bags and pointed out the deception of consumers. But what exactly is a counterfeit organic bag? These are conventional plastic bags made from petroleum that are labeled with organic imprints and even bear the "OK Compost" seal and then sold as organic bags.
Ute Zimmermann also explained how to distinguish such bags from genuine organic bags – for example, by the so-called “rustling test” and by the feel of the material.
