Since January 1, 2020, the placing on the market of plastic bags has been prohibited throughout Austria. For bags that have already been ordered or are still in stock, there is a transition period until December 31, 2020. The ban generally applies to all areas of trade, including pharmacy bags.
We now offer compostable pharmacy bags made from bioplastic. The NaKu bio-bags, featuring the pharmacy logo, are available with a handle and a gusset . Custom printing with your own logo is also possible. Made from natural plastic, these bags meet all legal requirements and can therefore continue to be distributed in stores. Paper bags are still permitted, but our NaKu pharmacy bags are significantly more affordable and have a 13 times lower CO2 footprint. This makes them the most environmentally friendly option.

For the production of the pharmacy bag, starch from corn from European agriculture is used. Because the bags are made of natural plastic, they feel pleasantly soft and velvety and are still tear-resistant.
The bags are also free of harmful substances and heavy metals, 100% compostable and certified according to DIN standard EN 13432 - TÜV. In industrial compost, the composting process of the bags takes about 3-5 days. In home compost, in warm weather, it takes 9-12 weeks for our pharmacy bags to be composted.
