DI Mag. Johann Zimmermann NaKu

Short article for LIFEART and BUSINESSART

NaKu Managing Director Johann Zimmermann was asked about four different topics related to bioplastics.

Mrs. Roswitha Reisinger from the magazines LEBENSART and BUSINESSART asked our managing director and plastics expert Johann Zimmermann about the topic of bioplastics for a short article. Four different questions were answered:

  1. Why even a bioplastic should be recycled. You can find the article about it here.
  2. Are bioplastics exempt from the plastic bag ban? You can find the article about it here.
  3. Why Europe is sleeping through the bioplastics trend. You can find the article about it here.
  4. Why is microplastic so problematic? You can find the article about it here.
Plastic cross from NaKu

There are many different types and forms of bioplastics with different material properties. In order to give a good overview here, we have developed the NaKu plastic cross - this gives you an overview of different types of plastics (see graphic). Today's processing technologies enable the production of different bioplastics. These consist of plants from local agriculture such as potatoes, corn or grain. Bio-based plastics obtained in this way are very similar to conventional materials. They can be processed using the same technologies and machines as conventional plastics.
