Production of the NaKu PLA/rPLA (bioplastic) bottle
From preform to finished NaKu PLA/rPLA bottle
In this video, we show you the fascinating production steps of the NaKu PLA/rPLA bottle. Made from 100% natural plastic (PLA), the NaKu Biobottle also contains 20% recycled PLA. Simply put, it's made from plants and lactic acid. 🌱
Production of the preform using injection molding : Production begins with the preform, the blank that is later formed into the bottle.
Quality control : The preforms undergo strict quality controls to ensure they meet high standards.
Inflating to the finished bottle : Finally, the preform is heated and inflated in a special machine until it takes the shape of a finished bio-bottle.
The NaKu PLA/rPLA bottle is made from 100% plant-based raw materials and contains an additional 20% recycled PLA. It is free of petroleum and harmful plasticizers such as bisphenol A, phthalates, or antimony. This bottle is not only compostable and recyclable, but also environmentally friendly and safe for contact with food.
NaKu bio-bottles – PLA/rPLA bottles are compostable according to DIN 13432! Furthermore, the NaKu sugar bottle – PLA/rPLA bottle made of bioplastic – is 7% lighter than conventional petroleum-based plastic! This also saves CO2 during transport, in addition to all other environmentally friendly aspects.
Health & Cooking Oils: Are PET Bottles a Problem? A new study from the University of Vienna has found that PET bottles can release carcinogenic benzene into cooking oil over time. In contrast, the NaKu bottle is made entirely of natural materials, which is why no harmful substances can leach out of it. You can find more information about benzene here.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions about the production of bioplastic bottles
How is the NaKu PLA/rPLA bottle manufactured?
The production process begins with a so-called preform , a blank made of bioplastic. This is produced using injection molding, heated, and then blown in a special machine until it takes the shape of the finished bottle.
What materials is the bottle made of and which are not included?
The NaKu bottle is made from 100% natural, renewable raw materials such as plants and lactic acid . It already contains 20% recycled PLA (rPLA). The bottle is guaranteed free of petroleum and harmful plasticizers such as bisphenol A or phthalates.
What are the advantages of this type of production?
Thanks to the material used and the manufacturing process, the bottle is compostable and recyclable . It is also 7% lighter than conventional petroleum-based plastic, which reduces CO2 emissions during transport. Since it contains no harmful substances, it is also safe for contact with food.
