Research, Technology, Innovation: Highlights of the Bio-based Industry
Research, technology, innovation – a highly interesting event
On December 2.12.2024, XNUMX, a very interesting event took place under the title "Research, Technology, Innovation: Highlights of the Bio-based Industry". Our Managing Director Johann Zimmermann took part in the panel discussion, during which the opportunities and risks for a bio-based industry and the associated transformation were examined in more detail.
As a supporting event, there were many interesting information stands where people could get information.
During the panel discussion at the event “Research, Technology, Innovation: Highlights of the Bio-Based Industry”, in which our Managing Director Johann Zimmermann also took part, the opportunities and risks of a bio-based industry and the associated transformation were examined in detail. There was great agreement among the experts:
• Technologies and products already exist, but price is the limiting factor.
• Although there is a lot of talk about goals, little is actually happening. The topic is even declining in some areas. It would be desirable if this topic were taken as seriously as recycling.
• Bioplastics are recyclable and should be recycled.
• A desirable goal would be to obtain 20% of plastics and chemicals from renewable resources. Unfortunately, this proportion is currently only a negligible 1%.
